The Royal Society unveiled a new oil portrait of Sir David Attenborough by artist Jonathan Yeo in June 2024 to commemorate his 40 years as a fellow. The portrait shows Attenborough seated, looking directly at the viewer with his hands clasped around his knee, against a green background. Yeo, who also recently painted King Charles III, created the work to celebrate Attenborough's career and his role in raising awareness of climate change and biodiversity.
